In Martinique, a transformative initiative is helping Black children aged 7-11 embrace the beauty of their natural curls and coils while fostering self-confidence.

The Hair Party Club, founded by 𝐀𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐀 – Cheveux et Corps (@iamatanga) and Sanmnou (@sanmnou), is a follow-up program designed to deepen participants’ knowledge of Afro hair care and styling.

Running bi-weekly for four months, the Hair Party Club offers a structured, supportive environment where children can master advanced techniques for styling their hair and build self-esteem.

The initiative focuses on teaching young participants to celebrate their unique hair textures—ranging from Type 3 curls to Type 4 coils—with pride and love.

Beyond hair care, these gatherings serve as a powerful space for self-expression and cultural affirmation, ensuring that the next generation grows up equipped with confidence and an appreciation for their natural beauty.

This empowering program exemplifies how community efforts can nurture both skill development and identity, proving that hair care is more than a routine—it’s a celebration of heritage and self-worth.
